    Abstract
    The success of a company is much influenced by its employees' performances. Employees as important resources of companies are expected to devote their strengths, talents, capabilities, creativities, and efforts to the progress of the companies they work for. The wages of part time employees of Tirtauli Districtowned drinking water companies (PDAM) are agreed with companies' capabilities. However, those wages are considered unreasonable to fa/fl/ the need of everyday 's cost of living. As a matter of fact, the employees sometimes have side jobs to add their incomes. The decrease of motivation can be seen from absence of employees' attention on the jobs, this tends to slow down their works. Therefore, it needs to reveal to what extend the influence of work capabilities and motivation on part time employees. This research employed theories on human resources management which had relation to theories on work capabilities, work motivation and performance. The research conducted at Tirtauli PDAM office in Pematangsiantar town used survey method approach. The type of the research was quantitative descriptive and the nature of the research was explanatory one. There were 64 respondents employed as the sample. The first hypothesis was analyzed using double regression analytical technique and the second hypothesis was analyzed using simple regression analytical one. The results of the first simultaneous hypothetical regression test of work capabilities and motivation was influential on part time employees ' performances. However, work capabilities had the highest level of impact on part time employees' performances. The results of the second simultaneous hypothetical regression test showed that work environment had significant impact on work motivation. It can be concluded from the research that work capabilities and motivation have significant impact on the performances of part time employees of Tirtauli PDAM in Pematangsiantar town
