Non-linear electric load can cause distortion in the form of ·wave, either current or tension which one of the parameters in determining the quality of electric power system. Programmable Logic Control has the characteristic of non-linear electric load which can cause the form of side wave of electric tension and current to become not genuine sinusoidal anymore because there is the interaction between fundamental harmonic sinusoidal frequency and the frequency of another wave 14•hich is known as harmonics. Programmable Logic Control has Total Harmonic current Distortion (THDi) of 116.4% and Total Harmonic Tension (THDv) of 1.5% with the power of 70 Watts are needed to be reduced because they do not match with the harmonic standard of the International Electro-technical Commission (]EC) 61000-3-2 Class D. Filter Passive Second-Order in Programmable Logic Control can reduce harmonics of the 3th order to the 39th order to become Total Harmonic Distortion current (THDi) of 16. 94% and Total Harmonic Distortion Tension (THDi~ ~f 0. 33% :S !EC standard 61000-3-2 Class D.en_US
