Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that attacks the breast tissues which consist of mammary gland tissue, lactiferous ducts, and mammary gland. Breast cancer is an essential public health problem and the number of the cases ranks the second in the world after cervix cancer. The cause of breast cancer has not been found out, but there are some factors such as age at menarche, number of children (parity), family history, KB (family planning) record, breastfeeding history, obesity history, smoking record, and personality type that cause the breast cancer. The objective of the research is to find out the risk factors that influence the incidences of breast cancer at RSUD Arifin Ahmad, Pekanbaru in 2017. This is an analytical observational research applying a case control design with as the case 60 respondents and control 60 respondents samples. The data analysis methods used are bivariate analysis with chi-square and multivariate analysis with logistic regression testing. The results of the research show that the incidences of breast cancer at RSUD Arifin Achmad is significantly influenced by the age at menarche with p-value = 0-017; OR=2.429, parity with p-value= 0.042; OR=2.909, family history with pvalue=0.024; OR=2.336, KB (family planning) record with p-value=0.027; OR=2.991, breastfeeding history with p-value=0.003; OR=3,084, obesity history with pvalue=0.032; OR=2.347, smoking record with p-value=0.043; OR=2.122, and personality type with p-value=0.027; O=2.286 and with a PAR value of 67.5%. Based on the logistic regression analysis, it is found out that the factor which has the most dominant influence on the incidences of breast cancer is breastfeeding history. It is suggested that the respondents with the incidences of breast cancer take o further examination to the nearest health service facility and perform early self-detection regularly.en_US
