| dc.description.abstract | This thesis is entitled The Mangebang Solu Bolon Tradition in Improving Tourism in Baktiraja District: Cultural Studies. The purpose of this research is to describe the values in the mangebang solu bolon tradition, the stages in the mangebang solu bolon tradition, and the cultural works of the solu bolon mangebang tradition in increasing tourism. The mangebang solu bolon tradition is a tradition carried out to introduce new solu bolon to the public while asking for prayers. Tradition is a form of action that is done repeatedly in the same way. The theory used in this thesis is the cultural theory put forward by Koenjaraningrat, the theory of cultural commodification. Culture is a system of ideas, feelings, actions, and works produced by humans in their social lives. The commodification of culture is an act that turns culture into something that has economic value and can be traded. The method used in analyzing the research problem is descriptive analysis method.
