Deskripsi Pertunjukan dan Analisis Struktur Musik dalam Konteks Pertunjukan Opera Batak di Youtube dengan Judul Cerita “Na I Hasagian” oleh Kelompok Plot (Pelatihan Opera Batak)

Abstract

This thesis is about “Deskripsi of the Performance and Analysis of Music Structure in the Context of a Opera Batak Performance on Youtube with the story title Na I Hasagian by PLOt Group (Training of Opera Batak)”. Opera Batak is a performing art which presents elements of art, music, dance and theatre. PLOt is a performing arts group that presents theatrical stories accompanied by music and dance. The PLOt group is a place for performing arts training in creating the latest performing arts works. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the performance and presentation of the musical structure of the accompaniment in the story of Opera Batak Na I Hasagian. To answer the main problems above, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method in collecting data including the author conducting: interviewing informants, observing by watching videos of Opera Batak Na I Hasagian on Youtube, reading Batak Opera books and documentation by making video interviews with informants. Supported by using the theory of performing arts pioneered by Milton Singer and to analyze the music the author uses Nettl's methodology, namely transcription and analysis of musical sounds, the most important things, namely aspects of rhythm, melody and music. The results of the author's research found that PLOt as a place for theater training that performed Opera Batak stories and created new Opera Batak stories such as those by Na I Hasagian and then produced a new song entitled Ende Ni Silangkitang. The structure of the accompanying music in the performance of the Batak Na I Hasagian Opera is a combination of the gondang hasapi and gondang sabangunan ensembles. The songs and gondang that are presented are Gondang Sibukka Pikkiran and 6 old Opera Batak songs.The conclusion of this thesis is that the performance of the Opera Batak Na I Hasagian has been successfully premiered at the BBM (learning with the Maestro) event which contains various artistic elements making Na I Hasagian the newest and most recent Opera Batak work which has many opportunities to be shown nationallly to Internasional
