    Abstract
Research on the Morphology and Growth of mahseers (Tor tambra) in the Bingai River, Belinteng Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency was conducted in July-August 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphology and growth pattern of the mahseers caught in the Bingai River, Belinteng Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency. The method used in this study was a purposive sampling method using the Backpack Electrofishing Unit with three samplings within two months. The number of fish samples was 170 fish with the results of the analysis of morphometric characteristics including body weight of 4.37-101.47 grams, total length of 75-200 mm, standard length of 50- 153 mm, head length is 10-39 mm, snout length is 0.1-1.4 mm, dorsal fin height is 8-31 mm, dorsal fin length is 13-30 mm, dorsal fin length is 13-30 mm, eye diameter is 0.2-1 mm, tail stem height is 6-23 mm, body height is 12-42 mm, pectoral fin length is 10-33 mm, The pelvic fins are 8-25 mm long. Meristic characters, namely the number of Linnea lateralis as much as 15-28, dorsal fin 1 hard rays and 7-10 soft rays (DI.7-10), pelvic fins which are 14-24 soft rays, pectoral fins which have 20 -32 weak fingers, anal fin which has 5-8 weak fingers and 12-25 tail fins. The growth pattern of the mahseers in the Bingai River is negative allometric (b<3) where the growth in length is more dominant than the growth in weight. The results of the study show that the growth coefficient (K) is 0.7/year, the infinity length (L∞) is 234.15 mm, the theoretical age of the mahseers at zero length (t0) is -0.37 for male mahseers , the growth coefficient is 1.3/year, the infinity length (L∞) is 204.75 mm, the theoretical age of the turtledove at zero length (t0) is -0.74 for female mahseers and the growth coefficient of 1.4/year, length infinityf (L∞) of 204.75 mm, the theoretical age of the turtledoves at zero length (t0) is -0.80 for the combined mahseers.
