| dc.description.abstract | Motber and child health program (KIA) in Aceh Tenggara Distict is directed to support the attempt of minimizing matemal mortality rate (AKI) and infant
mortality mte (AKB). Th€ success of this program must be supported by the
performanee of rural midwives in achieving the main and administrative activities of
the program that the target of KLA program can be implemented as planne d.fuZAA7,
the rqPorted KIA services in Aceh Tenggara Dishicrshowed that the reported first
visit of pregnant mother (Kl) reached 50.5o/o, the reported fourth visit of pregnant
mother (K4) reached 54.1o/o, the reported delivery assistance reached StlOrZ", tfre
reported high-risk service reached 17.6yo, and the reported neo-natal serrriee reached
48.2% and these reported services are still far from the reported national percentage.
This survey study with explanatory research method is intended io anayze tfre
influencr of individual characteristics (age, marital statr$, working e*fri"n",
domicilg aod knowledge), organizatiea (leadership, superrrision" ."**O and
psychology (motivation) on the e of rural midwives in the mother and
child heatlh program (KIA)- The poputation for this study rrras 283 nral midwives
end74 of them were selected to be the samples for this study through the Allocation
Proportional Sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzcd through
univariate and multivariate analysis.
The result of this study shows that, based on their main activity,
adnrinistmtive aaivity and the mrmber of their produaive horrrs, the per.formancr of
the nnal midwives is good Q4.3vO, fair (36.5010) and poor (39.7/oi. The result of
gultiple linear regression test shbws that the variable of marital status p : 0.000,
domicile p : 0.004, 81d working experience p : 0.000 have an influence sn the
performance of nual midwives. Of tle two variables (marital $atus and working
experience), working experience is the most dominant variable influencing thi
performanee of rual midwives in the mother and ctrild healrh progmm (KI$.
The Hed of Puskesmas (Community Heatth Centeri and the midvrdfe
coordiaator rlho leads the rural midrrives are suggested to pay attention to the
existence of n:ral midwives at their work place, to dircct and supjwise the new npal
midwives in order to obey the rules of organization and work as planned, and to make
a rewd systqn based onthe'r:rrcrk achievement ofthe nral midwives that they will
be motivated in achiwing the targets of their main activity, their adminisrative
activity and the nrmrber of their productive hours in achieving the goal of
