dc.description.abstract | The term "acute coronary syndrome" encompasses a range of thrombotic corona,y
artery diseases, including unstable angina and both ST-segment elevation and non-
ST-Segment elevation myocardial infarction. Platelets play a vital role in
pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Platelets are blood cells with diverse sizes and
densities. In addition to an aggregation, platelets modulate important
pathophysiological processes, including inflammation and coagulation. Larger
platelets are considered to be more active. Platelet Distribution Width (PDvV) is an
indication of the variation platelet sizes as a sign of active platelet. PDW can be an
independent risk factor for cardiac death, non-fatal reinfarction, re-Percutaneous
coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting. In this retrospective study
from medical record Acute Coronary Syndrome-STEM! patients in Adam lvf alik
Hospital from 1 October until 31 December 2014, we found 69 patients which fu?fill
inclusion and exclusion criteria. In 30 patients with PDW 2: 12, 7 JL, 39 patients with
PDW < 12,7 JL. There is no association between high PDW level with in-hospital
accident of Heart failure, Cardiac arrhythmia, Cardiogenic shock, or Cardiac death | en_US |
