    Hubungan Antara Stres Belajar Selama Pandemi Covid-19 dengan Terjadinya Night Eating Syndrome (NES) pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sumatera Utara

    Abstract
    Background. Academic stress among students, especially medical students, needs to be a concern. Medical students tend to have higher stress than non-medical students. During the COVID-19 period, the degree of stress tends to increase among college students due to adjustments to a new learning lifestyle. Eating disorder behavior among adolescents and adults is blowing up and closely related to stress which has a substantial impact on public health. One of the eating disorders is Night Eating Syndrome. Objective. This research is performed to determine the correlation between academic stress during the COVID-19 pandemic and Night Eating Syndrome among Faculty of Medicine students of Universitas Sumatera Utara. Methods. This study used analytical research with a cross-sectional approach that was conducted in October 2022 among Faculty of Medicine students of Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan. Results. The results obtained from analyzing 213 students are, majority endured moderate academic stress with a result of 56,3% and mild NES with a result of 59,2%. Majority of students who endure from severe academic stress and severe NES are students of class 2019 with results of 19,7% and 16,9% respectively. Chi-square analysis showed a correlation between grade and academic stress (p=0,008), no correlation between grade and NES (p=0,296), correlation between academic stress and the incidence of NES (p=0,001). Conclusion. Likewise, this research showed a correlation between academic stress and the incidence of Night Eating Syndrome.
