dc.description.abstract | Hepatitis B is an infection in liver, caused by Hepatitis B virus, a family member of hepadnavirus which can cause acute and chronic inflammation in liver. Infection of hepatitis B virus causes at least one million people die each year and have been infected since childhood. Hepatitis B-0 immunization to prevent hepatitis B virus infection infants,is required to be immunized not later than 7 days after delivery. The objective of the research was to find out the factors which influenced the giving of hepatitis B-0 immunization to 0 to 7 day-old babies in Bukit Malintang Subdistrict, Mandailing Natal District, in 2013. Type of research is a cross-sectional survey with explanatory research. The population was 210 mothers who had baby of two week to six months old in the working area of Bukit Malintang Subdistrict in 2013, and 133 of them were used as the sampels. The data were analyzed by using chi square test and multiple logistic regression tests. The result of the research showed that the coverage of giving Hepatitis B-0 immunization was 46,6% and not giving Hepatitis B-0 immunization was 53,4%. There was the influence of knowledge (p=0.001), childbirth aid (p=0.001), and infomation (p=0.001) on the giving of hepatitis B-0 immunization. The variable which had the most dominant influence on the giving of hepatitis B-0 immunization was knowledge (regression coefficient = 2.737). Mothers who did not have good knowledge had the chance of not administration hepatitis B-0 immunization to 0 to seven day-old babies 15 times more than mothers who had good knowledge (exponen (B)=15,439). It is recommended that the Health Office of Mandailing Natal District in order to meet the target of hepatitis B-0 immunization conduct training to midwife traditional about exposure to viral hepatitis B-0 and the health professsionals at the time of executing the antenatal care of pregnant women provides an understanding of hepatitis B disease course so that the mother wishes to get their children immunized on. | en_US |
