    Abstract
The imposition of the majority vote in General Election for Legislatives in 1999 has changed the direction and strategy of the political party candidates especially from PDIP (the Indonesian Struggle's Democratic Party) to get public sympathy. If parties used to play more role since the candidates used consecutive numbers, by majority vote system candidates have the same opportunity to wind In the General Election for Legislatives in 2014, PDIP organized various strategies so that it won the election: it chose popular candidates in specific places so that it could work on maximal vote potential. Besides that, it also socialized party's vision and mission, relied on Bung Karno figure as the initiator of Marhaeinism and Megawati as the party's general chairperson, used public sympathy with Jokowi who liked travel around (Jokowi Effect), used the momentum to be the opposition party in the last 10 years, and used political participation of Chinese community which became better. It also performed campaign and used mass media as part of the strategy. Meanwhile, the candidates who used the party's strategy, arranged the strategy which could spend less money by using success team from their own relatives, used government's program like free Identification Cards, free Family Cards, and helping people to use BPJS (Social Security Providing Board) for medication On the average, they did transactional politics although they did not reveal it explicitly. The research used descriptive qualitative method The data were gathered by conducting library research and interviews with informants, and they were also obtained from the Secretariat of DPC PDI, Medan. The result of the research shows that in order to get public support, parties and their candidates should be synergic and make optimal effort. By majority vote, candidates are required to play more active role in performing interaction with people since all of them have the same opportunity to win. The task of a party should do mapping about the party's internal and external strength, and candidates should play their own role in getting sympathy from their constituents
