Dampak Keberadaan Minimarket terhadap Kesejahteraan Pedagang Kelontong di Kota Pematangsiantar (Studi Kasus Penyebaran Indomaret terhadap Pedagang Warung Kelontong Pasar Parluasan)

Abstract

This study aims to describe the presence of minimarkets on grocery stalls, which more specifically discusses the changes that occur in grocery stall owners. The informants of this research are the owners of grocery stalls in the Parluasan Market area where minimarkets are growing rapidly in the neighborhood of grocery stalls. The technique of determining informants was carried out using a purposive method, where the informants studied were in a one-kilometer radius around Indomaret and had been selling for 5 years or more. Data collection was carried out by interviewing 10 informants of grocery stall owners. The research method used is Qualitative research. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation in the form of photos, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that grocery store consumers tend to be faced with two choices. However, this situation shows that shop owners make innovations to improve the quality of stalls which leads to the welfare of traders. Modernization raises awareness to act and very significant changes to stall entrepreneurs who appear to be able to compete with minimarkets that have spread around the community, which can be seen from stall owners who collaborate with SRC, improve the quality of service and neatness of stalls, and prices that are still much cheaper than minimarkets. The increase in income is very noticeable for stall owners who previously declined back up as before. The community must also help the owners of this grocery stall business because the existence of this grocery stall makes it easier for people to meet their needs and in terms of price is very comparable to the prices offered by minimarkets.
