Faktor-Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Sindrom Depresif pada Pasien Kanker Payudara yang Mendapat Perawatan Kemoterapi di RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan

Abstract

Background: The incidence of breast cancer is growing rapidly throughout the world, and is the most common cancer incidence among other cancers. Depression is a common comorbid disease found in breast cancer patients. Breast cancer with depressive symptoms that increase the risk of causing death. It is necessary to know what factors can be associated with depressive syndrome in breast cancer patients. Objective: To find out what factors are associated with depression syndrome in breast cancer patients. Methods: This study is a predictive multivariate analytical study with a cross-sectional approach using The Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and Visual analogue scale (VAS), assessment instrument. Sampling using non-probability sampling consecutive sampling type on 106 breast cancer patients. This study was conducted at the Outpatient Oncology Surgery Installation at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. Results: The final result of multivariate linear regression on the fit model found that age, length of education, pain, self esteem, cancer stage were associated with depression scores with R2 = 61.7%. Conclusion : Early detection and intervention should be regularly carried out in risk groups, especially in the early days of being diagnosed.
