Nursing is one profession in the hospital who was instrumental in maintaining the quality of health services in hospitals. Nurse performance degradation will affect the quality of health services. Performance measurement based on the standard of nursing care nurse at the Binjai Latersia Hospital shows the performance is still low. In addition to nursing care that has not reached the standards sit by Health Ministry, motivation and discipline of work are still not good. The purpose of this study to analyze the influence of individual characteristics and motivation on the performance of nurses in the inpatient in Binjai Latersia Hospital. This type of research is analytic with explanatory type research. The population in this study were all nurses who served in the inpatient Binjai Latersia Hospital totaling 61 people and made the whole sample. Data obtained through interviews using questionnaires, and analyzed by multiple logistic regression. The results showed that the old work, achievement motive, affiliation motive, and motive power are statistically affect the performance of nurses in general inpatient room in Binjai Latersia Hospital the dominant variable is the achievement motive. Needs to improve oversight and provide direction to nurses working in inpatient hospital room, and the provision of education and training related to increased motivation, especially motivation to excel, thus improving the performance of nurses in the inpatient hospital. In addition the Binjai Latersia Hospital to the recruitment process not only elected officials who have good skills, but also willing to work in one place.
