dc.description.abstract | Incident of cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality in women, this event originated from the Human Papilloma Virus infection. In general, reproductive couples is sentenced to suffer cervical cancer is in the final stage. And if the woman knows the importance of Pap smears to detect cervical cancer early, and want to do it then cervical cancer can be prevented. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the characteristics (age, education, occupation, socio-economic) knowledge and attitude on maternal reproductive couples against cervical cancer Pap smear in the Village of Medan District Tegal Rejo Perjuangan. This type of survey research with case-control study design. Population is all cases of woman reproductive couple who have done a Pap smear, while the control population was all mothers group that had never done a Pap smear. The number of samples in this study for case and control groups respectively 70 respondents. The experiment was conducted from January to July 2012. Collecting data through interviews based on a questionnaire study. Data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression test.
