Introduction: Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity of the human spine. Pedicle screw instrumentation is the currently reliable method for achieving optimal correction of the AIS deformity. However, the optimal instrumentation construction is still controversial because the optimal number and configuration of implants has not been determined. Several studies have shown that construction with low density pedicle screws can exhibit similar clinical and radiological outcomes. Methods: This is a retrospective study with a cross sectional design. Sample obtained that fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria are engaged in this study. The Cobb Angle and Kyphotic Angle of sample was measured before and after surgery. The data obtained is analyzed with statistical software using bivariate analysis and p-value <0.05 is considered significant. Result: A total of 25 subjects was obtained. All subjects are female (100%), with 15 subjects in low density category and 10 subjects in high density category. There is no significant difference in Cobb angle and Kyphotic angle using low- and high-density pedicle screw with p-value 0.540 and 0.697 respectively. Discussion: Although a high-density pattern can result in a rigid construction with more options for corrective maneuvers, it is associated with an increased risk of incorrect screw placement, leading to neurologic, vascular or visceral injury. One Study showed that there was no significant difference in curve correction in patients with AIS with low- and high- density pedicle screws. This is in line with the results of our study that showed no difference in radiological outcome between both groups respectively.en_US
