Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Sindrom Depresif pada Pensiunan Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) di Kota Medan

Abstract

Background: Retirement is linked to well-being towards old age. Some of the subjects felt the opposite, one of which was in the group of retired civil servants. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors associated with depressive syndrome in retired civil servants. Methods: The study was conducted on 246 retired civil servants in the city of Medan-Indonesia, January-April 2022. Divided into 3 different clusters, the study was conducted on the place where retired civil servants took monthly pensions. The analytical mutivariate regression logistics framework of the predictive concept was performed with 9 free variables. The main measuring instrument uses a geriatric depression scale (GDS-15). Results: Depressive syndrome was 84 subjects (34.1%) and those who were not 162 (65.9%). Male sex was found in 112 subjects (45.5%) and women in 134 subjects (54.5%), for married marriages as many as 167 subjects (67.9%) and unmarried 79 subjects (32.1%). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that there were 6 variables related to depressive syndrome in retired civil servants. The variables are gender (p=0.001, OR= 4.325), marital status (p<0.001, OR= 0.194), leissure activity (p=0.003, OR= 0.288), position while still active (p<0.001 and OR, 0.199), comorbidity of medical diseases (p<0.001 and OR= 0.190), length of retirement (against the group of ≤ 12 months, (0.023, <0.001 and <0.001) and OR (0.307, 0.071 and 0.041). Conclusion: Early detection, providing education to those who are going to retire should be given to reduce the morbidity and mortality of depressive syndrome in retired civil servants.
