| dc.description.abstract | The behaviour of household in living clean and healthy includes the attempts to create healthy environment, to prevent and overcome the health problem faced, and utilize health service available in order to materialize a healthy household National social economy survey data in 2004 showed that the achievement of healthy household range was 23.38%, while achievement of the target of behaviour of household in living clean and healthy according to Indonesia Health Indicators year 2010 at least 65%. The household with living clean and healthy behaviour at Medan Belawan sub-district in 2007 was 55.8%, but in the fisherman community was 9.45%. This study is aimed to analyze the influence of housewives characteristics such as age, education, occupation, family income, number of family members, knowledge, and attitude on behaviour of household in living clean and healthy of fisherman at Medan Belawan sub-district. This type of study is survey with cross sectional design. Population were all housewives amount 5.172 persons. The sampling done with two stage cluster technique and the sample size was 210 persons. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaire-based interviews. The data obtained were statistically analyzed through Chi-square and Regression Logistic tests. The result of this study showed that 44.8% of the respondents behaved in living clean and healthy with the confidence interval of 36.8% - 52.8%. The result of Chi-square test showed that the variables which were significantly related to the behaviour in living clean and healthy were education (p=0. 000), family income (p=0.001), number of family members (p=0.000), knowledge (p=0.000) and attitude (p=0.003). The result of logistic regression test showed that the variables which had influence on behaviour of household in living clean and healthy were knowledge (p=0.000) and education (p=0.018). The variable of knowledge had a more dominant influence. It is suggested that Head of Medan Belawan Health Center to extend a training to improve the knowledge of behaviour in living clean and healthy to the staff. It is recommended to health officer of Medan Belawan Health Center to make a planning in order to socialize the behaviour of household in living clean and healthy to the public especially the housewives. | en_US |
