Pengaruh Pendidikan, Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan terhadap Kemampuan Tawar Ibu yang Memiliki Bayi 6-12 Bulan dalam Pemberian ASI Eksklusif di Wilayah Puskesmas Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

The coverage level of exclusive breastfeeding in Deli Serdang district is low (20%). Of all subdistricts in Deli Serdang District, the lowest coverage level of exclusive breastfeeding (8%) is found in Pantai Labu Subdistrict. The Coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is related with bargaining power of mother which is still low. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of education, knowledge, and skill on the bargaining power of mother with the baby of 6 to 12 months old in exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Pantai Labu Health Center Deli Serdang district, with and explanatory survey. The population of this study were all of mothers with babies aged 6 to 12 months as many as 728 people and 88 of them were selected to be sample. The data for this study were obtained through interviews using questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple logistic regression test at α = 5%. The result of this study showed that statistically the education, knowledge, and skill significantly influence on bargaining power of mother breastfeeding exclusive to baby of 6 to 12 months old Knowledge about breastfeeding was the biggest influence on the bargaining power of breastfeeding. It is suggested to Deli Serdang District Health Office and Pantai Labu Health Center to improve extension about breastfeeding among mothers who have babies. Improving the maternal 's bargaining power in breastfed mother can also be pursued through a simulated or practice of breastfeeding in infants by the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program officer.
