Hubungan Fungsi Sel B Pankreas dan Profil Lipid pada Individu dengan Toleransi Glukosa Normal

Abstract

Background: Dyslipidemia is marked by an increase of total cholesterol, low densiry lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) dan trygl;serida (TG), and a decrease of high density lipoprotein cholesterol GfDL) A few study conclude that pancreatic B cell dysfunction due to dyslipidemia could lead to diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 and a constitute of DM type independen risk factor. This shrdy is intend to find out wether there is a relationship between pancreatic p cell dysfunction and lipid profile in individu with normal glucose tolerance. Metode: A cross sectional study was conduct to 32 individu with normal glucose tolerance. Spearman test was conduct to assess the correlation between HOMA-B and lipid profile. Result: From 32 sample, we found a significant relationship between pancreatic p cell function with total cholesterol (r:-0,601; p:0,0001) and LDL (r:-0,555; p:0,001), which meant that the increased of total cholesterol and LDL followed by the decreased of pancreatic p cell function. There is no significant relation

between pancreatic B cell function with I{DL and TG in this study- Conclusion: A relationship be found between pancreatic p cell function with total

cholesterol and LDL. There is no significant relation between pancreatic B cell function with HDL and TG. This founding showed that total cholesterol and LDL could be used as an early predictor of pancreatic p cell dysfunction
