    Abstract
In order to continue the upper structures' or super structures ' load down to the underneath soil layer until it reaches the designated bearing capacity it is required a part of building construction which is famously called as foundation. The hard soil layer usually exists at the depth of 15 meters from the ground surface and therefore it is required the type of deep foundations or pile foundations. In line with the activity of building the City-Hall Town Square and the existence of many other constructions in the vicinity of the project, it is a right choice to consider the application of bore pile because it produces a minimum impact to the surrounding ground movement due to vibration and other movement occurrences during the construction process. The objective of this thesis is to calculate the bearing capacity and settlement of the bore pile at the location of Bore Hole 1 using the finite element program by Plaxis with soil model of Hardening-Soil and the result is compared with the one resulted by Mohr-Coulomb and Loading Test. The ultimate bearing capacity at the location of Bore Pile 1 generated by HardeningSoil model is the same with the one resulted by Mohr-Coulomb, but it is bigger than the one enumerated by Loading Test. The permanent settlement resulted by Hardening-Soil is slightly bigger than the one resulted by Mohr-Coulomb and Loading Test. The maximum settlement occurred at the maximum load generated by Hardening-Soil is smaller than the one enumerated by Mohr-Coulomb but it is still merely bigger than the one resulted by Loading Test. The maximum elastic rebound generated by Hardening-Soil is smaller than the one enumerated by Mohr-Coulomb but it is stillslightly bigger than the one resulted by Loading Test. The conclusion of the Hardening-Soil's result is that; permanent settlement, maximum rebound, and maximum settlement occurred at the maximum loqd are closely equal to the ones resulted by Loading Test. Permanent settlement generated by Hardening-Soi/ is almost the same with the one resulted by Mohr-Coulomb, but the maximum rebound and maximum settlement are smaller. The ultimate bearing capacity calculated by Hardening-Soil is equal to the one generated by MohrCoulomb but it is a little bit bigger than the one resulted by Loading Test.
