Peran Modal Sosial dalam Pemberdayaan Perempuan melalui Program Nasional Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (PNPM) Mandiri Perdesaan di Kecamatan Dolok Merawan Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The high level of poverty in the community, the government has to find a woy to foce poverty that already existed many years in this country. There are many programs have been launched but those did not reached optimal results yet. Finally the government launched program of PNPM Mandiri Perdesaan. One of the programs especially for women called Simpan Pinjam Perempuan (SPP). The progrsm as a poverty reduction in ils implementation based on community empowerrnent, especially women's groups. The research aimed to find out how the role of social capital in the implementstion of PNPM Mandiri, especially the SPP and the efforts in the empowerment of women through the development of social elements. The research used a quolitative paradigm, by using quantitative and qualitative data (quantitative-less dominant). The research has done in l0 villages in the sub-district of Dolok Merowan, district of Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. The research "found thdt the role of social capital in the empowerment SPP group is using asset of a trust and the norm in group dywmics. Social capital is used since the beginning of the establishment the group to development the next group. And the social capital networking (networh) used in providing care to the suruounding erwironmenl. The social capital gives access to the resources owned by SPP. The developrnent of social capital for women's empowerment done for establishing cooperation in groups, interxifying communication and informatton in the SPP group, olso create social cohesion and inclusion groups.
