    Abstract
Siranggas Wildlife Sanctuary is a conservation area in the lower mountainous area that has various types of trees, but this location is an area that is vulnerable to damage due to exploitation. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of tree species and their associations in the Siranggas Wildlife Sanctuary Area. This research was conducted from March to April 2022. The study was conducted using the Purposive sampling method by installing 5 plots at different heights measuring 30 x 60 meters and subplots measuring 10 x 10 meters inside each plot. Vegetation data were analyzed using the Importance Value Index (IVI) and the Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H'). The composition of vegetation is calculated by comparing the number of individuals of a family with the total number of individuals found. Associations were obtained from the two species with the highest Importance Value Index found throughout the observation plot. Tree diversity in the Siranggas Wildlife Reserve Area consists of 38 families, 79 genera, and 119 tree species. The diversity index across the plot is relatively high with an H' value > 3. The dominant canopy height profile found throughout the plot is a tree with a height of 10 – 15 meters and the diameter of the dominant trunk encountered on the entire plot is 10 – 20 cm. The association that occurred in the entire research area was the Schima wallichii – Syzygium cerasiforme association based on its distribution across plots and the importance value index values were respectively 83.65% and 74.93%.
