Leadership plays an important role in increasing work motivation and
performance of the employees to achieve the goal of an organization. The success of
an organization depends on the role of human resource department to improve the
performance of their employees to materialize the goal of their organization. For this
reason, a leader needs to motivate and encourage the employees to improve their
performance that they can achieve the goals set by the organization.
The hypothesis of this study was that the leadership and work motivation
significantly irifluenced the performance of the employees of Akademi Pariwisata
Medan. This study used primary and secondary data. The primary data were
obtained through the questionnaire-based interview and the secondary data were
obtained through studying the official documents issued by Akademi Pariwisata
Medan. The purpose of this descriptive study was to find out and analyze the
irifluence of Director's leadership and work motivation on the performance of the
employees of Akademi Pariwisata Medan.
The data obtained were quantitatively and descriptively analyzed through
multiple linear regression tests. The result of this study showed that, partially, the
Director's leadership had influence on the performance of the employees of Akademi
Pariwisata Medan and work motivation did not have irifluence on the performance of
the employees.
