Sistem Penagihan Rekening Air Pelanggan pada PDAM Tirtanadi Cabang Padang Bulan

Abstract

Water is the most important substance in life after air. About three-fourths part of our body is made up of water and no one can survive more than 4-5 days without drinking water. In addition, water is also used for cooking, washing, bathing, and clean up the dirt around the house. Water is also used for industrial purposes, agriculture, animal husbandry, firefighters, recreation areas, transportation, and others. The availability of clean water is expected by the community to support activities daily life that cannot be separated from the need for water, in this case need to be supported by the existence of a professional body in managing needs water. The existence of the Tirtanadi Regional Public Water Supply Company, Padang Bulan City Branch Medan which is engaged in the provision of clean water needs services which is one of the Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) made this company known as one of the sources in managing and providing clean water. In the PDAM company there is a billing process by the PDAM to society. Billing is addressed to public customers such as households, entrepreneurship, and offices. Billing at the PDAM performs the system billing through the SMS (Short Message Service) application, where with the SMS Gateway this can make it easier for the billing department to provide information on arrears customer bills for the use of water account services.
