dc.description.abstractThis research delves into how users perceive the use of electronic journals that the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) library subscribes to. The population for this descriptive and quantitative research is all 4,455 USU students. Meanwhile, the sample size is 98 students, revealing that users' perceptions of accessing electronic journals subscribed by USU library are unsatisfactory This situation is reflected in the fact that 26.5% of respondents state that they rarely use electronic journals. In general, 87.8% of those who use the USU Library's electronic journals say that it helps them get the information they need faster. In terms of the purpose of accessing electronic journals. 55.1% of respondents use it as their primary purpose, 37.8% use it for research, and 7.1% use it to improve their knowledge. On the other hand, 67.3% of respondents understand and use the Boolean AND, OR NOT operator. The title of the journal is used by 60.2% of respondents to search for articles, the author's name is used by 15.3% of respondents, and the subject of the journal is used by 24.5% of respondents to search, Eighty seven point eight percent of respondents say the electronic journals subscribed by the USU Library meet the needs of students, and 83.7% say it matches their majors and expertise According to 80.6% of respondents, the journal contains the most up-to-date: information. 46.9% of respondents frequently seek assistance from librarians, and 89.8% believe the library provides good service. However, as evidenced by 56.19% of claims, internet connectivity is frequently a challenge. Furthermore, only 77.6% of respondents understand the language used in the journals.en_US
