Aktivitas Mikroorganisme di Bawah Tegakan Kemenyan Toba (Styrax Sumatrana) Asal Desa Pandumaan, Kecamatan Pollung, Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan

Abstract

The activity of microorganisms in the soil affects plant growth which in turn will determine the productivity of the land where they live. Microorganisms that live in the soil play an important role in the changes that occur in the soil, one of which is the conversion of organic matter into substances that will provide nutrients for the trees and plants around the forest. This study aims to determine the total soil microbes and the activity of microorganisms under the Kemenyan Toba (Styrax sumatrana) stand from Pandumaan Village, Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. Soil samples were taken from the soil under the Kemenyan Toba stands at a depth of 0-20 cm using a soil drill. Soil chemical analysis was carried out at PT. Socfin Indonesia Medan, North Sumatra and analysis of the activity of microorganisms was carried out at the Soil Biology Laboratory, Agroecotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatra Utara. The soil under the Kemenyan Toba stands had a total of 135.926 x 106 CFU/ml microorganisms with an activity rate of 19.066 mg CO2/100g/day. Soil pH in these Kemenyan Toba stands belongs to the acid criteria which has a value of 4.84. The C-Organic content in this stand was classified as high, namely 4.39, followed by the CEC amount of 18.18 m.e/100g which was classified as medium criteria and the N-Total amount which had very high criteria with a value of 1.42%.
