    Aktivitas Mikroorganisme Dibawah Tegakan Glodokan (Polyalthia Longifolia Sonn) dan Mahoni (Swietenia Macrophylla)

    Abstract
    Fertile soil cannot be separated from the presence of microorganisms in the soil to maintain soil function and control soil productivity. Microorganism activity is the process of microorganisms carrying out living activities in the soil. This study aimed to calculate and analyze soil chemical properties and soil microorganism activity in Glodokan (Polyalthia longifolia Sonn) and Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) stands. This research was conducted at the Soil Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. This study used two soil samples, namely the soil under the Glodokan stand and the soil under the Mahogany stand. T test was used to determine the difference between the two samples. The results of this study obtained that the pH value of the soil under Glodokan stands was 7,1 and Mahogany 5.6. The C-Organic value of the soil under the Glodokan stand was 2.20% and the soil under the Mahogany stand was 2.38%. The CEC value of the soil under the Glodokan stand was 15.57 me/100gr and the soil under the Mahogany stand was 16.46 me/100gr. The total number of microorganisms and soil respiration under Mahogany stands was higher than the soil under Glodokan stands. The soil under the Glodokan stand had a total microorganism of 45.64 X 107 CFU/ml with respiration of 9.49 mg CO2/day. While the soil under Mahogany stands has a total microorganism of 57.21 X 107 CFU/ml with respiration of 10.98 mg CO2/day.
