Reduksi Dimensi dan Optimasi Antena Mikrostrip Dipole dengan Kurva Cohen Minkowski

Abstract

The fractal antenna is an antenna that adopts a fractal shape, aiming to optimize the structure and characteristics of the antenna. As a result, the fractal antenna has high performance with smaller dimensions. One of the simplest forms of fractals is the Cohen Minkowski curve. In this study, the microstrip dipole antennas were modelled and optimized using the Cohen Minkowski curve for two different frequencies. The frequencies 433 MHz and 2.4 GHz have been chosen because they are commonly used for the Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band application. The antenna used substrate FR4 with a dielectric constant (er) of 4.4 and a thickness of 1.6 mm. The antenna was modelled and simulated using the 2014 AWR simulator. The proposed microstrip dipole antenna with the CohenMinkowski curve could reduce the antenna dimension by 43.2% with a VSWR of 1.024 at the frequency of 433 MHz. The proposed microstrip dipole antenna with the Cohen Minkowski curve also could reduce the antenna dimension by 49.3% with a VSWR of 1.015 at the frequency of 2.4 GHz.
