dc.description.abstract | Organizational change (mergers, downsizing, reorganization, and the adoption of new technologi,es) turns into a major threat for employees due to job insecurity. A significant restructuring may encourage career stagn.ation, which negatively affects employee performance, organizational commitment, motivation, and job satisfaction. This study is investigating the effect of job insecurity as a result of the restructuring and merging of 4 (four) SOEs Ports on job performance, the intention to resignation, and organizational commitment as an intermediary variable. A questionnaire is carried out as the data collection method. The data is then analysed by using Structural Equation Model -Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Furthermore, the sample of this study is the 310 employees of PT Pelindo (Persero) ex PT Pelindo I (Persero). The study finds that the f!!fect of a significant restructuring has a positive effect on job insecurity. The job insecurity sign.ificantly affects the organizational commitment in a negative manner. On the other hand, the organizational commitment negatively affects the employee intention to resign in a major way. Additionally, the organizational commitment serves as the partial mediator of the job insecurity on job satisfaction and employee intention to resign. | en_US |
