Hubungan antara Derajat Ekogenisitas Korteks Ginjal dengan Derajat Retinopati pada Pasien Hipertensi

Abstract

Background: Hypertensive nephropathy is risk of developing chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease. The incidence of hypertensive nephropathy is increasing with increasing incidence of essential hypertension. Similarly, retinopathy which is also a complication of hypertension. This prompted us to assess the relationship between the degree of nephropathy and retinopathy as early screening for complications of hypertension. Objective: To determine the influence between the echogenicity of renal cortex by renal ultrasound examination with the degree of retinopathy by funduscopic examination, so that these parameters can be used to detect early complications of hypertension in the target organs as the kidneys and the eyes of prospective and reliable indicators. Methods: This observational study started from June 2014 to September 2014 on 40 patients with hypertension and did anamnesis, vital signs measurement, anthropometric examination, and laboratory testing of ureum, creatinine, urinalysis, renal ultrasound and fundoscopy.

Result: This study report significant correlation between the echogenicity of renal cortex and the degree of retinopathy by using spearman analysis (p=0,001, r= 0,517). Conclusion: This two parameters, ultrasonography and funduscopic expected to be used to detect early complications of hypertension in the target organs as the kidneys and the eyes of prospective indicators and reliable and can be a predictor of one another
