Analisis Tingkat Pengetahuan Lingkungan Siswa SMA Harapan I Medan Terhadap Perilaku Mencintai Lingkungan

Abstract

Destruction of environment has become worsen, despite all the effort that had been established and had involving world countries participation. Indonesia also had to deal with the environment issue. Environment education awareness at the formal education institution was designed to accelerate better environment quality, but the study only surround it's implementation process, so that it was necessary for more in-depth study of the affectivity of the environment education in High School level. This study was designed to know the connection between level of student's knowledge and environment behavior awareness.Survey approach with restricted interview data technique was used in this study since the test instrument questionnaire also being used. For the data analysis technique, the interpretation of singular chart was used to describe the level of student environment education and environment awareness behavior. Interpretation of cross chart to describe the defference of proposition of environment awareness based on student level of education and Phi statistics test and correlation rank-Spearmen test were used to proven the hypothesis of this study. This study shows that student knowledge level of environment was at the intermediate category and the student environment awareness was at the high level category, and it was also proven that there are differencess of environment awareness attitude base of their level of environment knowledge. Althoough the coefficients of correlation of Rank-Spearmen were relatively low, but it was proven that there are positive and significant relation between level of knowledge and the environment awareness knowledge. The higher the student's environment knowledge, the higher their environment awareness attitude.
