    Abstract
Background. Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men and the third most common in women worldwide. Adenocarcinoma of the colon is the most common malignancy of the GI tract and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Protein gene product (PGP) 9,5 known as ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase L1, catalyzes the hydrolysis of C-terminal ubiquitin esters and amides, has an important role in protein degradation through the recycling of free ubiquitin by cleaving ubiquitinylated peptides. Relation of PGP9.5 to cancer cells, is demonstrated in various tumors and mesenchymal neoplasms such as nerve sheath, (myo )fibroblastic, and vascular tumors. However, there has been no attempt to focus on PGP9.5 expression specifically in cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs). Aim and Objective. To show differentiated expression PGP9.5 on cancer associated fibroblast (CAFs) in colorectal adenocarcinoma to histopatological grading. Method. This research constitute analytic research with design cross sectional. Observational sample contain 33 paraffin blocks of colorectal adenocarcinoma biopsy and surgical have been diagnosed by hematoxylin eosin staining. Result. A total of 33 cases were diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma. Their age ranged from 17 to 72 years. The expression of PGP9.5 in CAFs with low expression found in well differentiated 33,33%, moderately differentiated 48,49% and poorly differentiated 9,09%. High expression of PGP9.5 in CAFs found in moderately differentiated 6,06% and in poorly differentiated 3,03% and none in well differentiated. No correlation found between PGP5.5 expression with histopathological grading of adenocarcinoma colorectal with p = 0,215. Conclusion. No correlation found between PGP5.5 expression with histopathological grading of adenocarcinoma colorectal.
