    Abstract
COVID-19 is an infectious disease that can spread through the air or through direct contact with an infected person. Its spread still occurs in various countries, with cases continuing to grow. To prevent transmission, the government is campaigning by encouraging the public to implement the 5M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility. Community behavior in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 needs to be considered to reduce the transmission rate. In implementing 5M to prevent COVID-19, there are factors related to a person's actions, namely predisposing factors, enabling factors, and reinforcing factors. This study aims to analyze what factors are related to the application of 5M for the prevention of COVID-19 at Horas Market traders in Pematangsiantar City. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling method is probability sampling using a simple random sampling technique. The population of this research is the market traders of Horas in Pematangsiantar city, amounting to 1258 people from a total sample of 95 respondents. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire with direct interviews. The results showed the value of the relationship between knowledge (p = 0.008), attitudes (p < 0.001), facilities and infrastructure (p = 0.543), and the role of social media (p = 0.005) with the application of 5M as a prevention of COVID-19 for traders. The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and the role of social media with the implementation of 5M. There is no significant relationship between facilities and infrastructure with the implementation of 5M. Suggestions for traders are to take advantage of information obtained directly or online and to take advantage of the facilities and infrastructure provided by the government in supporting the prevention of COVID-19.
