dc.description.abstract | The prevalence of children under five years old with inadequate nutrient and
malnutrient in Simpang Tiga Subdisrict, Aceh Besar District from the periods of
2008 and 2009 increased. In 2008, out of 536 children under five years old, 12
children (2.24%) were with malnurient and 40 children (747%) were with
inadequate nutrien. In 2009, out of 538 children under five years old, 16 children
(2.9%) were with malnutrient and 42 children (7.8%) were with inadequate nutrient
The purpose of this survey study with cross-sectional design was to analyze
the influence of family type and social economy on the pattern of infant food
consumption in Simpang Tiga Subdistrict, Aceh Besar District. This study was
conducted from November to December 2010. The population of this study was 117
and all of them were selected to be the sample. The data for this study were obtained
through questionnaire-based interview. The data obtained were analyzed through
multiple logistic regression test
The result of this study showed that family type and social economy
(education, family’s spending, occupational status and number of children) had
influence on the pattern of infant food. Family with high education level, family's
spending > Rp. 1.5 millions, doing side job besides being housewife, and number of
children ≤ 2 could provide a better food consumption to ther babies in Simpang Tiga
Subdistrict, Aceh Besar District.
The Aceh Besar District Health Service and related agencies are suggested to
implement the Food and Nutrient Aleriness System (SKPG) program, through the
Food and Nutrient Working Groups including the activites of the improvement of
community's education quality job opportunities provision, economic empowerment,
Family Planning Program encouragement, and supporting the Posyandu and
Kadarzi revitalization program that they can master the practical nutrient science fo
be applied in their family and community to meet the optimal nurient need. | en_US |
