I ( Electronic Fuel Injection ) is a fuel injection system with electronically controlled based on input signals from the sensors are processed by the ECU ( Electronic Control Unit ) , which is in the form of chips consisting of a microprocessor and memory installed on board on the car . The purpose of the use and development of EFI to date is to increase the power or engine power and also to improve performance motor fuel and reduce exhaust emissions . Systems such as EFI fuel injection instead of carburetors are the considerations , among others : not able to drain the carburetor air-fuel mixture at the same price ratio for each cylinder , fuel vapors are heavier than air it will have trouble when flowing through curves and sharp corners of the suction channel ( intake manifold ) , with the injection system can be atomized fuel directly into the suction line near the suction valve , more precision in regulating the amount of atomized fuel as a function of engine operating conditions detected by various sensors . Based on calculations for 7K - type gasoline engine Power Carburator obtained at 43.1541 kW , torque of 117.8 Nm at 3500 rpm , while the engine - EFI 7K obtained Power of 50.5749 kW , torque of 121.8 Nm at rpm 4000 .en_US
