    Abstract
Migratory birds have requirements in choosing their habitat, such as the environmental factors, the disturbances from human activities and habitat changes. Changes in habitat at an ecosystem will affect the survival of migratory birds. The purpose of this study was to analyze the diversity of migratory bird species and the factors that influence it. The study was conducted at three locations using the concentration method and the block method. The results of the research obtained 19 species of birds belong to the family Charadriidae, Laridae, Scolopacidae and Sternidae. The highest diversity index value (H') found at location I on day III which was 1.97. The largest species abundance index (N) found at location I on the third day with the value was 7.23. The highest species evenness index (E') found at location III on the third day and the value was 0.94. Similarity index/highest similarity level at location I and III were 71.43%. The types of the water birds which had a high percentage on their presence were shorebirds up to 74% and seabirds 26%. Base on the IUCN protection status, it obtained three status categories with the highest percentage (79%) categorized as low risk; 16% categorized as ear threatened, and 5% of the water birds at the endangered status. The main factors that affect the diversity of migratory waterbirds were tidal factors and rainfall.
