Fruit and vegetable consumption of Indonesian population above 10 years
old is only 6.5% is still far from balanced nutrition advice. Low consumption of
fruits and vegetables can lead to various degenerative diseases in the future. It was
only 22% of people in Ria province consuming fruis and vegetables (2.3
servings'day) which was still lower than the average of national consumption.
This research used analytical survey method with cross-sectional approach
which aimed (0 determine the factors affecting the fruits and vegetables consumption
in families in the Balik Alam village. The population sampling was 60 families out of
2344 families selected by proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using
maltiple logistic regression.
The results showed tha the less fruits and vegetables consumption were sill
quite high (86.7%), because mother’s lack muritional knowledge. There 7s the
influence of mother's knowledge to the family fruit and vegetable consumption n the
Balik Alam village. No influence preferences, availability of fruits and vegetables or
