    Abstract
    Vapor compression refrigeration cycle integrated with the water heater has been designed, fabricated and tested. The main objective of the fabrication and testing of the evaporator is to improve the efficiency of ordinary vapor compression refrigeration cycle. Improving efficiency is one of the solutions to help the Indonesian government in reducing the uses of fossil. Utilizing waste heat from condenser is proposed to improve the efficiency.The waste heat drawn from the condenser is not affecting the work of evaporator to condition the room. Analytical calculations such as cooling load calculation and the main dimensions of the evaporator have been performed. In addition the evaporator work in the testing room with and without cool water heaters proves that the cooling workis not disrupted by the evaporator heating water in the vapor compression cycle. The results obtained from this research are as follows. The average room temperature before the vapor compression refrigeration cycle installed is about 28o C, after the installation the average room temperature is 22o C. The main conclusion of this project is that the water heater does not affect the evaporator in conditioning the room temperature
