The choice of connection type and the thickness of the transformer core is very influential on its performance. The purpose of this research was to test and analyze the effects of mitre joints and butt joints with thickness the core were 0.27 mm and 0.30 mm on the distribution of flux, total losses and noise. This test is performed on load transformer state. For measuring the distribution of flux, losses, and noise using a thermal camera, watt meter, and sound level meter. The conclusion obtained of the best performance from based on tests is mitre joints with an end distance of 5 mm and the thickness of 0.27 mm. The highest temperature measured were 34.2℃ and 34.3℃. The total losses were 15.8 W and 17.1 W. The measured noise results were 73.9 dB and 74.6 dB. The measured values of heat distribution, total losses, and noise were increase followed by thickness and width of the overlapping distance of the mitre joint.
