Abstract

Togel gambling or “toto gelap” become one of the social problems that are difficult to eradicate. Gambling is a form of deviant behavior which has been prohibited by state law and religious law. But the ban on gambling did not make the gambler to stop gambling. The togel gambler just keep doing gambling activities clandestinely. The action of gamblers who choose to keep doing this forbidden game to make gambling phenomenon is very interesting to discuss. Togel gambling can be regarded as a structured organization where in it are a collection of individuals who had the role of each. The role played by individuals who are in a gambling environment raises a relationship or relation between players gambling. The gamblers come from all walks of life. They chose to continue togel gambling because driven by various motives. The existence of this research reveals the motives for the gambler to gamble. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with phenomenological approach Alfred Schutz. Phenomenological approach is used to understand the behavior of the togel gamblers popularity because of motive and in order to motive. Through this approach would be known motive causes and motives of interest the actors do togel gambling. The results of this study indicate that the relationships between the gambler in the gambling network intertwined because of trust that is built between the gamblers. The relation is divided into two: the relationships among the players in the togel gambling of manual consists of the player-retailer-collectors-bookie-backing, and relationships between togel gambling of online consist of player-bookie. Background affecting the offender's conduct raises because of gambling toggle motive that comes from a family background, the influence of the environment and poverty, and in order to motive that aims such as a hobby and pastime, to adapt, and improve the economy.
