dc.description.abstract | Nanoherbal of the gagatan harimau (Vitis gracilis Wall.) contains secondary
metabolites such as flavonoids and terpenoids which can increase the number of
spermatogonia cells, spermatocytes and spermatids. Tissues need antioxidants to
neutralize free radicals and flavonoids can act as antioxidants that can trigger the
repair of organ histology structures. This research was conducted from July 2022 to
November 2022 at the Animal Physiology Laboratory and Experimental Animal
House, PT. Synergy Nanotech Indonesia South Tangerang Banten, and the
Pathology and Anatomy Laboratory of the Adam Malik General Hospital in Medan.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of gagatan harimau
nanoherbal leaf (Vitis gracilis Wall.) on histology and microstructural testes of male
Wistar rats given physical exercise. This study used a completely randomized design
(CRD) with 6 treatments each of them consisting of 4 replications. The treatment
consisted of negative control (K-) (normal rats); positive control (K+, (treated with
physical exercise); treatment 1 (physical exercise + Vitamin C 2 mg/kg BW);
treatment 2 (physical exercise + gagatan harimau nanoherbals leaf 100 mg/kg BW;
treatment 3 (physical exercise + nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaf of 125 mg/kg BW,
and treatment 4 (physical exercise + nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaf of 150 mg/kg
BW). Testicular histology preparations were prepared by using the paraffin method
with Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining. The results showed that the gagatan harimau
nanoherbal leaf (Vitis gracilis Wall.) with dosage of the 125 mg/kg BW restored the
seminiferous tubule diameter, the seminiferous tubule germinal epithelium thickness,
the Leydig cells and the spermatogen cell count due to physical exercise swimming
physical exercise, but did not cause a significant change in testicular weight. | en_US |
