    Abstract
The otaku community is people who like Japanese culture such as anime and manga. Indonesia has several anime communities, one of which is OPID. In the OPID community, new people are very awkward to talk to. After joining for a long time with people who have the same hobby, they become more fluent in interacting with others. This research aims at how the image of the anime community increases social interaction in the millennial generation who are classified as introverts. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the role of the anime community in interacting socially with the millennial generation otaku. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that the Medan OPID community can be interesting to be followed by groups of people who are classified as introverts, in participating in activities they feel more confident in building interactions with fellow members, the OPID community is formed as a result there is a similarity relationship that is formed based on the same hobby. Through this film, they interact with each other to guess the storyline, make activities imitating characters like those in the film, or create activities that result in cooperation and interaction like this which is called associative interaction. The many activities carried out by individuals with the OPID community have caused its members to no longer experience introverts or have difficulty socializing. This community distributes or serves as a meeting place that can increase their interaction closer and closer. Social interaction is the main requirement in conducting social relations. With verbal communication, individuals can express feelings, thoughts, ideas and facts as well as exchange information and explain so that they can exchange thoughts and feelings, argue and fight with each other.
