Pengaruh Pemberian Deterjen terhadap Sintasan Hidup Ikan Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) di Benih Ikan (BBI) Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian Kota Binjai Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Detergent wastewater from households is one of the components that can have an adverse effect on aquatic biota. This study aims to determine the life expectancy of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) exposed to the toxic effects of detergent wastewater and determine the LC50 value of the detergent. Detergents used in household activities will enter water bodies so that they can harm biota in the waters, including the Sangkuriang catfish. The survival of sangkuriang catfish is strongly influenced by its environment, so it is necessary to test the toxicity of detergents on sangkuriang catfish. This research was conducted at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) in Binjai city from October to November 2022. The method used in this study refers to the Usepa (United State Environmetal) method, namely conducting preliminary tests, Toxicity tests with varying concentrations of detergent wastewater: 0 .01 mg/L, 0.1 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 10 mg/L, 100 mg/L, with three repetitions. The total number of fish used was 320. The results of this study concluded that the LC50-96 hour value of using tie-branded detergent on the survival of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) was 0.3631 ppm, the effect of detergent on catfish included decreased breathing patterns, poor swimming behavior of fish abnormal, namely jumping and hyper active, the body and gills of the test catfish secrete mucus so that it looks paler.
