dc.description.abstractOil insulation is a very important thing used in transformers. The higher density value makes oil insulation better to use than gas insulation. However, oil insulation is more easily contaminated. Oil that has been contaminated will make the quality of the oil decrease. This will result in failure of the transformer. To avoid this, it is necessary to check and maintain transformer oil regularly to maintain the quality of power distribution. Salah satu cara untuk perawatan minyak trafo yaitu dengan cara purifikasi. In this research, purification will be carried out on 5-year used oil type Shell Diala B. Purification is done by 2 methods, namely boiling and filtering. The purification tool is designed using a microcontroller system, namely Arduino, to run heating devices, taps, and pumps that are commanded by input signals from sensors. After purification, the breakdown voltage and viscosity of the transformer oil were tested. The breakdown voltage of used transformer oil has increased after purification. Before purification, the breakdown voltage value of used transformer oil was 12.24 kV. The highest increase in breakdown voltage was obtained when the purification temperature was 80oC at 42.94 with a purification ti me for 20 minutes. The viscosity value decreased along with the increase in purification temperature and time. The lowest purification value was obtained at a purification temperature of 80oC of 5.745 cSt with a purification time for 20 minutes. Heating and filtering in the purification device reduce the viscosity value of the used transformer oil sample.en_US
