The things that must be considered in describing a musical melody are: (a) scale, (b) basic tone, (c) tone area, (d) number of notes, (e) number of intervals, (f) cadence pattern, (g) melody formula, (h) contour. The method used for this study is a qualitative descriptive method proposed by Kirk Miller.
