Fase-fase Perkembangan Identitas diri Tokoh Ado dalam Novel Jalan Pasti Berujung Karya Benyaris Adonia Pardosi: Kajian Psikologi Sastra

Abstract

Literary works contain imaginative elements in them, taking into account the elements of language and existing aesthetic values. Literature is an embodiment of the creative activity of a work of art and its object is man and his life. This study uses a literary psychology approach. Psychology is a discipline that studies more deeply about the mind, mentality, and human behavior. Literature and psychology are two different aspects of science, but they have various interrelationships. One of them is that literature and psychology have similarities, namely as sciences that both talk about humans. Human psychology can be described through the psychology of literature. Literary psychology is a literary study that sees literature as a psychological activity. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of forming the identity of the main character in the novel Jalan Pasti Berujung by Benyaris Adonia Pardosi. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The analysis techniques used are library techniques, reading techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of this study are: the discovery of the identity of the character Ado which is analyzed by looking at the characteristics that occur in the early adult phase experienced by the character Ado. The character Ado goes through a period of early adulthood which includes: (1) a period of regulation, (2) a period of productive age, (3) a period of trouble, (4) a period of emotional tension, (5) a period of social alienation, (6) a period of commitment, ( 7) dependency period, (8) value change period, (9) adjustment period, (10) creative period.
