    Abstract
Shallot is one leading horticultural commodities and has good prospects as a seasoning and medicinal properties. In increasing of local samosir shallot production, growth regulators and micronutrients are needed. Gibberellin (GA₃), is a plant growth-stimulating hormone that when applied as an exogenous hormone can trigger the appearance of flowers and flowering simultaneously. The application of boron on shallots could increase the quality of seed and flowering number. The aim of the study was to evaluate the production and quality of the Samosir local True Shallot Seed (Allium Ascalonicum L.) through Gibberellins and Boron treatment in the highlands. The research was conducted at Humbang Hasundutan, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia from August to December 2022. Factorial randomized block design was used with two-factor and 3 replication. The first factor was the application of Gibberelin (0; 100; 200 and 300 ppm), the second factor is Boron (0, 3 and 6 kg/ha). The results showed that the administration of Gibberellin treatment increased several observed variables of plant growth, production, generative, namely number of leaves and number of tillers, chlorophyll and sulfate content, wet and dry weight of shoots, flowering number of local Samosir shallots. Concentration of Gibberellin 100 ppm can increase and provide a significant difference in the growth of the local Samosir shallots and the addition of a higher dose has no significant effect on the observed variables of the plants. Boron at a dose of 6 kg/ha can increase growth, crop production such as plant length, number of leaves and tillers, chlorophyll content, wet and dry weight of shoots, flowering number of local Samosir shallots. The interaction of Gibberellins and Boron can increase the wet and dry weight of shoots, and number of flowering of local Samosir shallots.
