Pengaruh Silika terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Bawang Merah (Allium Cepa L) Dalam Keadaan Stres Kekeringan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of silica and drought levels on the growth and production of shallot plants. This research was conducted at UPT. Main Seeds of Palawija, Tanjung Selamat, Deli Serdang, and North Sumatra The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the dosing of silica at four levels, namely 0 g Si/plant (control), 0.48 g Si/plant, 0.96 g Si/plant, and 1.44 g Si/plant. The second factor is the level of drought, with three levels of spatial capacity, namely 80%, 60%, and 40%. The results showed that the dosage of silica had no significant effect on the parameters of vegetative growth and production of shallot plants except for root dry weight and shoot wet weight. The growth of shallot plants was best under conditions of 80% field capacity, because the growth and production of shallot plants decreased under drought stress conditions of 60% field capacity and 40% field capacity. A silica dose of 0.48 g/plant (50 kg Si/ha) has a role in increasing the number of tubers under drought stress conditions of 60% field capacity.
