Analisis Permintaan, Penawaran, Impor dan Ekspor Bawang Merah di Indonesia

Abstract

Natalie Jessica Regina Surbakti (197039016) with title of “Analysis of Demand, Supply, Import and Export of Shallots in Indonesia". The writing of this thesis was guided by Dr. Rulianda P. Wibowo, S.P, M.Ec as Chairman of the Advisory Committee and Dr. Ir. Salmiah, M.S as Member of the Advisory Committee. Shallot is a potential horticultural crop and has been a leading commodity for a long time. National shallot production has shown a significant increase in the last 5 years, turn Indonesia no more into an importer of shallots. However, Indonesia's shallot exports have not been maximized compared to the supply surplus that occurs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the variables studied on the demand, supply, import and export of shallots in Indonesia. The data used are time series data for 2002-2021 obtained from various agencies and literature, which are then analyzed using the Two Stage Least Square (2SLS) method for the demand and supply models, as well as the First Difference Method for the import and export models. The estimation results show that the variables that have a significant effect on shallot demand are domestic price, income and import price, while supply is significantly influenced by domestic price, consumption and harvest area. Imports are influenced by domestic price, consumption and the rupiah exchange rate as variables that have a significant effect, while in this study the rupiah exchange rate is the only variable that has a significant effect on exports.
